What is OTC e-Tax?
OTC e-Tax is the Office of the Tax Commissioner's electronic filing option for Payroll Tax. This will provide registered taxpayers with secure 24 hour access to the system using the Internet.
Who can use OTC e-Tax?
All registered taxpayers can use OTC e-Tax provided that they have a valid employer account number and password. The Office of the Tax Commissioner will initially assign a password to every registered taxpayer. The password should be changed by the taxpayer on first use of the system. If you are experiencing difficulties logging onto the system or have not received a password, please contact us at etax@gov.bm.

A copy of the paid return can be printed from the system
Reduced calculation and carry forward errors. The system performs all calculations and automatically moves figures to the relevant sections of the return.

When do I have to file and pay Payroll Tax?
Payroll Tax returns are due within fifteen days after each calendar quarter.
Can I file for a prior or future quarter?
OTC e-Tax allows you to file for a prior or a future quarter as long as it falls within the current Government fiscal year, which is from April1- March 31.
What if I am late filing a return on-line?
If you are late filing a return the system will automatically calculate the penalty and underpayment and add it to the tax payable figure.
Can I file two returns at the same time?
No. You must e-file and pay one return at a time.
Can I e-file a return without paying over the Internet?
No. If you choose to e-file a return you must pay over the Internet.
Can I use the system to calculate my tax payable without e-filing?
Yes. OTC e-Tax can be used to assist you in calculating the tax that is due. When you have completed the form there is an option on the confirmation screen that will allow you to display the form for manual filing only. Once displayed it can be printed and you will be able to submit the form with your payment to the Accountant General Cashiers or to the Office of the Tax Commissioner. You should note that when the manual filing option is chosen your return will not be saved.
What methods can I use to e-pay my return?
You have the following options for e-payment:
· Bankcard Plus or Easylink
· Visa or MasterCard
· Direct debit from your bank account (your bank account number will have to be keyed into the system)
What is the minimum amount I can e-pay?
The minimum that you must e-pay is the employees' portion of the Payroll Tax.
Can I subsequently pay on my account over the Internet?
Not at this time. Payments on account must be made to the Accountant General Cashiers or at the Office of the Tax Commissioner. However, OTC e-Tax will allow you to view your account balance on-line.
If I make a mistake on my return after I have e-paid can I go back and correct the error?
No. Any mistake that has been made once you have e-paid will have to be corrected by the Tax Administrators at the Office of the Tax Commissioner. You can inform us of the error by e-mail at etax@gov.bm, via fax at 296-5406, or letter and we will make any necessary adjustments internally.
What is a challenge question and answer?
A challenge question and answer is used to retrieve forgotten passwords. You are advised to set up a challenge question and answer when you first log in. The challenge question should be set up so that you are the only person that knows the answer. If you log into the system and have forgotten your password click on the Have You Forgotten Your Password link and the challenge question will appear. Type in the answer to the question and if it is correct your password will be retrieved.
How do I change my password and enter my challenge question and answer?
On the menu bar choose the option Your Profile. This will take you through the necessary steps for changing passwords and entering challenge questions and answers.
Can I Pay my Land Tax when I am logged onto the OTC e-Tax system?
Yes. Click on the Land Tax option in the menu bar and you will be linked to the land tax payment site.
